Neemrana became the
third capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was
killed in battle by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD. This picturesque site was
chosen by Raja Rajdeo. Neemrana derived its name from a brave local
chieftain Nimola Meo, who when defeated by the Chauhans, pleaded that
his name be given to his lost kingdom. ![]() Neemrana Fort Palace is the Rajasthan's closest palace which is situated about 122 km on the Delhi-Jaipur highway and is only about 100 km from Delhi's International Airport. Neemrana Fort is located in village Neemrana in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. Neemrana Fort Palace is among the India's oldest heritage resorts which was built in the year 1464 AD. Neemrana Fort Palace is sited on a majestic plateau, concealed in a horseshoe formation of the billion year old Aravalli ranges. In Neemrana Fort Palace there are about 40 rooms with 33 double and 38 single beds. There are so much beds that it can accommodate about 104 guests without extra beds. For conferences there are Nazara Mahal which seats about 50 guests and Darbar Mahal which can occupy about 100 guests. The Neemrana Fort Palace has various dining restaurants like Raj Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Aam Khas, Panch Mahal, Amaltasse, Aranya Mahal, Holi Kund and Maha Burj. For recreation there are various facilities like bar, pool and health club and facility of indoor games is also there. Neemrana Fort Palace covers an area of 25 acres or 10 hectares. The stepped palaces of this architectural jewel cut into the hillside and cover over 3 acres or 1.2 hectares and rises to 10 levels commanding the most splendid views. From 1986,the ruins of this fort palace have been sensitively restored and reconstructed. The rooms are furnished with an eclectic mix of traditional Indian and colonial furniture, antiques and artistic objects. Most rooms have private balconies or terraces with excellent views of the surrounding.
